Planet Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor on behalf of a well‑established and growing distribution business based in Banbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader with warehouse operations experience to join a fast‑paced environment and take responsibility for a team of approximately 15 warehouse operatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, productivity, safety, and service levels are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate a team of around 15 warehouse operatives across rotating shifts.
  • Manage daily warehouse activities, ensuring all operational targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor productivity levels and implement improvements where required.
  • Conduct team briefings, shift handovers, and performance reviews.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of warehouse staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse records and reporting.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Promote a positive working culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience managing teams within a busy warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, coach and develop team members.
  • Good understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Competent IT skills, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing priorities.
  • Forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
