We are working with a company that is internationally recognised in what they do and are helping millions of people around the world live a better life. Due to continued growth in their Digital Workforce team, they are looking to add a Purview Specialist to join a global team in managing and enhancing their document management portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to build and execute on the DMS roadmap ensuring scalability, enhancements and operational effectiveness of the systems. This role requires a strong background in technical document management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the technical roadmap for the document management ecosystem (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and M365), aligning business outcomes to platform capabilities.
  • Ensure strategy and deployment decisions remain aligned with broader product/enterprise architecture direction.
  • Design and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities to improve governance and risk posture, including:
    • Sensitivity labels / label policies
    • DLP (Exchange/Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive endpoints as applicable)
    • Data Lifecycle Management (retention labels/policies, disposition, records management where needed)
    • eDiscovery (Standard/Premium) and content search practices, with legal hold workflows
    • DSPM (Data Security Posture Management) use cases for visibility, exposure reduction, and recommendations
  • Formalise unstructured data strategy: classification, lifecycle, retention, defensible disposal, and information architecture best practices.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements, user journeys, guardrails, and scalable configurations.
  • Partner with Legal/Privacy/Security to ensure decisions meet regulatory expectations and organisational priorities.
  • Build governance playbooks, standards and training guidance for content creators and business teams; turn feedback into improvements.
  • Integrate E5 licensing capabilities into the Azure/M365 ecosystem; design foundational workflows and automations (e.g., provisioning, labeling, exceptions/approvals, reporting).
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and security of M365 services and configurations.
  • Communicate priorities, delivery progress, risks and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
Essential Experience
  • 5+ years in roles such as M365 engineer/admin, security & compliance engineer, business/systems analyst, or technical product lead with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong SharePoint Online + OneDrive administration experience (information architecture, permissions, sharing controls, site governance).
  • Proven hands-on Microsoft Purview delivery across multiple areas: DLP, Sensitivity labeling, Data Lifecycle / retention, and eDiscovery.
  • Working knowledge of DSPM and how to operationalise recommendations.
  • Experience working with Legal, Security and Privacy teams to design usable controls that still meet compliance and risk requirements.
  • Understanding of global privacy/compliance concepts (e.g., GDPR), audit support, and risk management practices.
