Assistant Network Manager / 2nd Line Technician

Salary: £30,000 – £33,000

Role Overview:
Our client seeks an IT Engineer based on a school site to join our managed service team as an Assistant Network Manager. The role involves supporting ICT infrastructure and services within the school environment.
Key Tasks:
- ICT Support Service On-site:
- Provide specialist ICT support to ensure high-quality learning facilities.
- Assist the Network Manager and potentially lead satellite sites, requiring the ability to work independently.
- Support staff and pupils with ICT requirements using your skills and training.
- Maintain specialist equipment, perform repairs, and ensure safety and quality standards.
- Advise and guide school staff on ICT matters.
- Communicate technical information effectively, tailored to the audience.
- Implement work programmes under supervision.
- Manage stock within budget, conduct audits, and maintain records.
- Comply with policies on child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality.
- Mentor junior staff members.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act 1984 regarding data security and accuracy.
- Technical Expertise:
- Connect and check hardware operation.
- Set up desktop environments and install software.
- Perform basic network setup and maintenance tasks.
- Manage user accounts and utilize utilities for network monitoring.
- Processes:
- Follow acceptance testing procedures for new ICT equipment.
- Keep records of hardware and software.
- Maintain software libraries and original application copies.
