Planet Recruitment are working with an innovative and rapidly growing technology company based in Witney, specialising in advanced monitoring solutions for the energy sector. Due to continued expansion and increased R&D activity, our client is seeking a Test & Assembly Technician - Level 2 to join their engineering team.
The Role
This is a diagnostics-focused technical position supporting R&D, Engineering, and product investigation activities. The role goes beyond standard production work and requires a stronger electrical understanding, problem-solving ability, and hands-on investigative skills. You will be involved in testing, fault finding, and supporting engineering development work, helping to identify root causes and improve product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Component-level fault finding on PCBs
- Use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
- Supporting prototype builds, engineering trials, and product testing
- Investigating failures, running test procedures, and documenting findings
- Assisting engineers with root cause analysis and understanding circuit behaviour
- Contributing to non-routine, problem-solving focused technical work
- Potential overseas travel with the Engineering Manager and Sales Director
About You
- Experience in an electronics or engineering technician role
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and circuit behaviour
- Confident using electronic test equipment
- Ability to diagnose faults beyond basic production-level issues
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a varied, investigative environment
- Team player with good communication skills
