Role: IT and Network Support Engineer (Educational sector)
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £35,000 – £42,000
Hours 8:30am – 4:30pm

Our clients IT Services Department is seeking an experienced IT and Network Support Engineer to join their growing IT Team. Working closely with the IT Manager you will need to have strong communication skills as you will be talking to people at all levels and will need to communicate effectively.
The role requires the right candidate to have strong technical skills with experience of designing, implementing, and maintaining IT key infrastructure and network systems.
Having previously worked in an educational environment would be a massive plus for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide IT support to College members, students, staff and Fellows, in conjunction with other members of the IT team.
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including network switches and wireless access points.
- Maintaining the College network hardware infrastructure and arranging scheduled upgrades to network hardware including switches and Wireless Access points.
- Designing and planning upgrades of network hardware and infrastructure
- Providing Mail administration, other Office (365) applications and associated troubleshooting
- To manage and maintain Windows desktops, mobile devices and associated applications
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of, and ability to support, a Windows Desktop environment.
- Knowledge of HP/ HPE comware / HPE Aruba Operating systems and confident with CLI commands on those Operating systems.
- A strong understanding of network concepts including Vlan's subnets, IP subnetting, and layer 2 switching.
- Desktops, laptops, Macs & mobile devices
- Microsoft Office and Office 365
- VMWare vSphere, and Horizon virtual desktops
- Office 365 and Outlook administration
