The Company: Our client supplies the logistics sector with bespoke storage systems, to a number of different arenas. We are looking for an experienced Draughtsman with AutoCAD knowledge to work from their Witney office.
The role: As a CAD Technician you will mainly be responsible for:
- Creating/amending site layout drawings and assembly diagrams; estimating and structural knowledge are important in this role.
- Answering sales calls, providing written quotations, and dealing with technical queries.
- Building 3D assemblies from technical drawings.
- Creating and understanding sheet metal parts.
- Preparing and generating 2D technical drawings from 3D models.
- Performing modifications to 2D technical drawings when required.
- Generating general assembly drawings from 3D assemblies.
- Creating manufacturing and client instruction documents.
- Ensuring that the company's Health, Safety and Fire regulations are adhered to at all times, reporting any issues immediately to the department's health and safety committee member or line manager.
- Participating in all identified training to ensure skills are in line with the job role and any future changes.
- Carrying out extra duties as requested by management.
About you: If you are an experienced Technician and have experience in a similar role within a production facility you should have the following requirements:
- Qualification ideally in an engineering or manufacturing discipline.
- Previous CAD design experience.
- Good industry experience in using SolidWorks.
- 3D CAD experience & skills.
