Our prestigious client based near Abingdon, who work in the Medical sector, are looking for a Production Engineer to join their growing team.

The main focus of the role is to facilitate the manufacturing of high-quality existing and new products through the provision of engineering support services. To assist in the definition and enhancement of manufacturing processes.

Production Engineering
  • Create/update CAD drawings for parts & assemblies.
  • Liaise with the New Product Development department during the product development phase ensuring design for manufacture, assembly & test principles are followed.
Production Parts Quality
  • Reviewing production reject parts for why they have failed, this includes checking the part against the drawing, reviewing the line build to see if it's an internal line issue, talking with suppliers to understand if there is an issue with their manufacturing line.
  • Investigating production issues on the shop floor and root causing the failure.
  • Improve production processes using key philosophies such as kaizen, poke-yoke, hidden factory, Six Sigma, etc.

HNC / ONC or extensive experience preferably in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Process Engineering.

Extensive use of CAD software, preferably Solid Edge / SolidWorks or equivalent, Computer literacy including the use of Excel spreadsheets.

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement techniques.

Excellent communication/report writing skills.

Proven planning, change management and organisation skills.

Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 (early finish on a Friday).
