Vehicle Technician / Mechanic - Rochester

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a busy and professional workshop in Rochester.

Working as part of an experienced workshop team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with approved repair methods.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Vehicle Technician who is passionate about the automotive industry and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general servicing and maintenance of vehicles.
• Undertake tyre changing duties across a variety of vehicles.
• Carry out road and ramp testing and vehicle inspections when required.
• Diagnose faults and problems on vehicles.
• Carry out electrical diagnosis where required.
• Complete repairs in line with approved repair methods.
• Restore vehicles to their original condition and ensure all work meets the required standards.
• Deal with warranty repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Plan and organise your workload effectively to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.
• Assist with general workshop duties when required.
• Accurately complete all relevant documentation.
• Follow company procedures, health and safety requirements and workshop standards.
• Support junior technicians and share knowledge and expertise where required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or in a similar role.
• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) - essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with electrical vehicle diagnostics would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and make decisions when required.
• Strong time-management and organisational skills.
• A willingness to support and mentor junior technicians.
• A genuine passion for the automotive industry.
• Pride in producing work to a high standard.
