We're recruiting a Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator to take ownership of the administration, optimisation, and security of a complex Microsoft 365 environment within a highly regulated, global organisation operating to ITIL / ISO standards. This is a handsâon, senior technical role with real influence â ideal for someone who enjoys leading initiatives, acting as a technical authority, and mentoring others while driving continuous improvement.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the endâtoâend management of Microsoft 365 services, ensuring stability, performance, security, and alignment with organisational goals. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll lead migrations, enhancements, and optimisations, while supporting complex escalations and guiding junior team members. The role involves a mix of strategic ownership and handsâon delivery, with collaboration across IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead administration, management, and optimisation of Microsoft 365 services
- Own and deliver migrations, updates, and platform improvements
- Use PowerShell scripting and automation to drive efficiency and best practice
- Act as SME for complex escalations, troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Develop, document, and maintain processes, procedures, and standards
- Manage patch testing and deployment across endâuser devices
- Monitor and maintain security, compliance, and risk controls
- Mentor and support junior IT team members
- Collaborate crossâfunctionally to align M365 initiatives with wider business goals
- Stay current with emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend improvements
- Support Microsoft 365ârelated projects from design through delivery
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- 8+ years' experience working in a Microsoft enterprise environment
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365, including:
- Intune
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
Desirable:
- Microsoft certifications (e.g. Enterprise Administrator Expert, Modern Desktop Administrator)
- Experience working in regulated or ISOâaligned environments
