My client is looking for a commercially focused Business Development Manager to help drive growth by identifying new business opportunities and building strong client relationships. The role involves presenting technical services to prospective clients, managing the sales process from first contact to contract close and working closely with internal teams to develop proposals that meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across multiple industry sectors
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through networking, research and events
  • Present services and capabilities to prospective clients

  • Work closely with internal scientific and operational teams
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships

Requirements & Experience
  • PhD or equivalent scientific background, with relevant commercial experience
  • Proven track record in business development or sales within the life sciences sector
  • Experience selling scientific services or contract research solutions
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery, preclinical research or regulated laboratory services
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
