Planet Pharma are working with a global research‑driven biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering medicines and vaccines for both humans and animals. The organization is recognized for its strong commitment to innovation and scientific advancement, with a focus on therapeutic areas such as oncology, infectious diseases, cardiology, immunology, and vaccines.
The Medical Advisor holds primary responsibility for developing and executing the migraine Medical Affairs Plan across the UK and Ireland, under the guidance of the Therapeutic Area Lead CNS. This role provides therapeutic area support by engaging with Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs), driving scientific initiatives, and supporting the field force. The Medical Advisor reports directly to the Therapeutic Area Lead CNS.
Scientific and Technical Leadership- Execute agreed medical tactics and apply best practices to maximize impact.
- Communicate scientific therapy needs credibly and effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
- Build trust with the scientific community through peer-to-peer exchange, research collaborations, society engagement, and publications.
- Deliver therapeutic and functional training to teams and affiliate functions.
- Develop and implement country-specific medical education programs and symposia.
- Lead Expert Input Forums aligned with strategic priorities.
- Actively contribute to professional organizations, academic groups, and regulatory working teams.
- Provide scientific input into digital initiatives.
- Translate global medical strategies into actionable research, data analysis, scientific communication, and educational initiatives that improve patient outcomes and access.
- Strengthen collaboration between field and medical teams by providing scientific and medical support to commercial colleagues.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of promotional materials.
- Engage with SLs and KDMs to drive scientific initiatives and support field activities.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate actionable country-level insights.
- Provide scientific input for digital projects and regulatory queries, ensuring timely resolution.
- Adapt tactical plans to evolving business realities while maintaining strategic alignment.
- Uphold ethics and integrity by delivering balanced, non-promotional scientific information.
- Support therapy training content development for the sales team.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking in asset value propositions and evidence generation.
- Ideally MD, PhD, Pharm D.
- Strong Scientific Leader engagement experience.
- Could be an MSL with strong ABPI knowledge looking to move to a Medical Advisor role.
- Strong commercial / business mindset.
