A global, science-led biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a Director of Clinical Pharmacology to provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of development programs from early clinical development through post‑marketing. This is a highly visible role for a seasoned clinical pharmacology leader who thrives at the intersection of science, strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration.

The role

As Director, Clinical Pharmacology, you will define and drive clinical pharmacology and PK/PD strategy across multiple programs, influencing key development and regulatory decisions while serving as a trusted scientific leader within cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead clinical pharmacology strategy from candidate nomination through Phase 4 across multiple programs
  • Serve as Clinical Pharmacology Lead on cross‑functional development teams
  • Own dose selection strategy and rationale for Phase 1 studies; provide strategic input into dose decisions for later‑phase trials
  • Oversee PK/PD analysis, interpretation, and reporting to support clinical and regulatory decision‑making
  • Partner closely with pharmacometrics teams to guide modeling and simulation activities
  • Contribute to and review clinical pharmacology sections of INDs, NDAs, BLAs, and other regulatory submissions
  • Lead responses to regulatory agency questions and support inspections
  • Identify, manage, and oversee external consultants and vendors
  • Drive scientific dissemination through publications and conference presentations
  • Mentor and influence across functions while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD with significant industry experience in clinical pharmacology and PK/PD
  • Deep understanding of clinical pharmacology, pharmacometrics, and the end‑to‑end drug development process
  • Experience working within neuro* ideal
  • Strong working knowledge of PK/PD tools (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin, R, NONMEM, ADAPT)
  • Proven experience supporting regulatory submissions and health authority interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategically while remaining hands‑on as needed
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and effective in matrixed environments
