We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to provide short-term, onsite support at a UK-based, regulated manufacturing and life sciences environment. Working closely with site EHS leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant operations across laboratories, manufacturing, facilities, and contractor activities.
This role is ideal for an EHS professional with hands-on experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing, who enjoys being embedded in operations and making an immediate impact.
What You’ll Do- Develop, review, and update risk assessments across laboratory, facility, and construction activities
- Create and deliver EHS training packages for site personnel
- Conduct and review COSHH assessments in line with UK regulations
- Draft, revise, and standardise SOPs to support safe and compliant operations
- Support incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and Permits to Work for onsite contractors
- Provide general EHS advisory support to operational and project teams
- Minimum 3 years experience in an EHS advisory or specialist role within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
- Background in drug, vaccine, or biopharmaceutical development strongly preferred; experience in other highly regulated industries (e.g. food manufacturing) will be considered
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and GMP-related EHS requirements
- Proven ability to produce clear, practical EHS documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, COSHH, etc.)
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required; NEBOSH Diploma preferred
- Short-term, high-impact role within a growing life sciences environment with a high potential for contract extension
