Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm (on-site)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to support the delivery of clinical trials at our York site. The post holder will manage nursing activities across the full lifecycle of clinical studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering a high-quality experience for study participants. Due to the site location, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all nursing-related activities for clinical trials from study start-up through to close-out, in line with ICH/GCP guidelines.
  • Attend Site Initiation Visits (SIVs) and remain up to date with protocol amendments and study updates.
  • Conduct Patient Interest Visits (PIVs), demonstrating thorough knowledge of study protocols.
  • Maintain patient engagement throughout the study to support optimal retention.
  • Accurately collect, verify, and document study data within source notes, CRFs/eCRFs, and associated documentation.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment for both participants and staff.
  • Ensure data queries are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Respond appropriately to any medical emergencies involving patients or staff.
  • Regularly review and check the emergency trolley to ensure readiness.
  • Undertake laboratory-related duties where required by the study.
  • Work at all times in compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure adherence to SOPs, COPs, and regulatory standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • NMC registered nurse with no restrictions on practice.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Previous clinical research experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong patient-focused approach.
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
