My client, a global organization operating within a highly regulated manufacturing and supply environment, is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review month-end accounting entries, including accruals, prepayments, and other P&L-related transactions
- Complete and maintain balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
- Manage manufacturing accounting activities, including work-in-progress reporting and product costing
- Produce monthly management information and performance reports, including budget comparisons, sales analysis, cost reporting, and workforce metrics
- Monitor and report on accounts payable activity, working closely with shared service teams
- Perform bank reconciliations and support cash management processes
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate reporting requirements
- Support internal and external audit activities, providing information and analysis as required
- Track and report departmental expenditure and functional costs
- Provide support to colleagues across the finance function during peak periods and annual leave
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and other ad hoc projects
Candidate Profile
- Part-qualified, newly qualified, or qualified by experience accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in management accounting and costing, ideally gained within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or FMCG environments
- Experience working within a large multinational organisation is highly desirable
- Good understanding of UK VAT requirements
- Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to identify practical solutions to business challenges
