A leading pharma company are looking for an Automation QA Tester to join their clinical trials platform team.
This is a hands-on role where You'll work directly with developers, contributing to a product used by patients, sites, and study teams around the world. You'll take ownership of automation across web and mobile, help build a robust end-to-end regression suite, and ensure the platform remains stable and reliable as it evolves.
Alongside automation, You'll stay involved in manual testing during release cycles and exploratory phases, playing a key part in maintaining quality across a regulated, patient-impacting environment. You'll be embedded in a collaborative product team where accuracy, reliability, and clinical-grade standards genuinely matter.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining an end-to-end regression suite that provides reliable coverage of core product workflows.
- Working with the test lead to decide which areas should be automated and which should remain manual, based on risk, stability, and repeat-test value.
- Feeding automated test results and supporting evidence into Jira/Xray to maintain clear, structured test management and reporting.
- Refactoring test scripts and improving locator strategies to keep automation suites stable and maintainable as the product evolves.
- Supporting manual testing across web and mobile during release cycles, exploratory testing, and areas not yet suited to automation.
- Testing across multiple environments, including a dedicated automation environment used for consistent regression runs.
- Working closely with developers and testers both local and overseas as part of a collaborative, product-focused team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bringing proven experience testing clinical, healthcare, medical device, or other regulated systems.
- Understanding compliance expectations, validation requirements, audit trails, data integrity, and the realities of testing software used by patients, sites, or clinical staff.
- Working with clinical workflows, patient journeys, or trial-related digital systems, with a clear understanding of what "quality" means in a regulated context.
- Having experience with Appium or other mobile automation tooling.
- Being familiar with Node.js for scripting or utilities.
- Having exposure to CI/CD pipelines and running automation within them
- Understanding automation strategy - knowing what to automate, what to leave manual, and how to keep suites maintainable over time.
- Using Jira/Xray for structured test management, reporting, and traceability.
- Debugging effectively, distinguishing genuine defects from flaky tests or environment-related issues.
- Contributing positively within a collaborative, team-first environment.
Why This Role
You'll be embedded directly with developers, shaping an automation function that's actively growing. Your work directly supports patients participating in clinical trials - meaning the quality of this platform genuinely matters.
You'll have influence over automation strategy, tooling, and coverage, with the chance to build something robust rather than inherit legacy debt.
