We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Design & Development Engineer to support the development of innovative drug delivery devices within a highly regulated medical device environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong product development and mechanical design expertise to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototype development through to commercial manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of drug delivery devices for pipeline and commercial products
  • Carry out technical assessments including tolerance analysis, functional performance modelling, and FEA simulations
  • Produce detailed component and assembly designs using 3D CAD and engineering drawings
  • Support prototype development and transition into commercial tooling and manufacture
  • Contribute to Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) reviews
  • Liaise with suppliers to optimise components and support procurement activities
  • Support material selection and component evaluation activities
  • Ensure compliance with quality management and risk management requirements
  • Prepare technical documentation and engineering reports

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree, Masters, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience developing high-volume products within medical devices, drug delivery, or similarly regulated industries
  • Strong 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
  • Experience with tolerance analysis and engineering calculations
  • Understanding of mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, and kinematics
  • Knowledge of DFMA principles and assembly processes
  • Familiarity with quality control and risk management processes
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Results-driven with a proactive and collaborative approach
