My client, a global organization operating within a highly regulated manufacturing and supply environment, is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month-end accounting entries, including accruals, prepayments, and other P&L-related transactions
  • Complete and maintain balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
  • Manage manufacturing accounting activities, including work-in-progress reporting and product costing
  • Produce monthly management information and performance reports, including budget comparisons, sales analysis, cost reporting, and workforce metrics
  • Monitor and report on accounts payable activity, working closely with shared service teams
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support cash management processes
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate reporting requirements
  • Support internal and external audit activities, providing information and analysis as required
  • Track and report departmental expenditure and functional costs
  • Provide support to colleagues across the finance function during peak periods and annual leave
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and other ad hoc projects

Candidate Profile

  • Part-qualified, newly qualified, or qualified by experience accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in management accounting and costing, ideally gained within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or FMCG environments
  • Experience working within a large multinational organisation is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of UK VAT requirements
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to identify practical solutions to business challenges
