Role Overview
As a Scheme Analyst you will possess a good understanding of the Payments Industry (Card and Non Card) and how these scheme models operate. Detailed knowledge of scheme networks is essential, especially American Express, Diners, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UPI and Visa. You will monitor and analyse regular scheme bulletins that are published, organise and track analysis, validate relevance for the company and engage business and technical stakeholders to review and prioritise implementation of requirements. Bulletins impacting the business of Planet will require technology and operational projects to be raised, prioritised and delivered against mandated dates. In addition, the role will focus on developing the strategy and maintenance of the Scheme portals, access for Planet teams, and ensuring staff have access to the right information on a self-serve basis. Finally ensuring Planet's TPA/Service Provider registrations are correctly recorded and working closely with the partner teams when Planet itself is set up as a Service Provider. A good understanding of scheme rules/standards, formal compliance programs, billing, waiver/variances and reporting requirements will be greatly valued.
What you will do
- Primary Function
- Monitoring and downloading any new scheme mandates and changes which require reviewing, logging, analysing, prioritising, and supporting implementation according to compliance and commercial needs
- Scheme Portal Management, assignment of roles, keeping roles updated and contacts’ current
- Ensure Service Provider / Third Party Agent registrations are kept up to date with the card scheme networks for partners, subsidiaries and suppliers
- Review Data Integrity reports to identify authorisation and clearing issues on core platforms, with analysis and remediation plans to mitigate potential scheme fees
- Manage Scheme Compliance and enforcement programmes for the major card scheme networks including internal stakeholder engagement
- Function as subject matter expert to provide interpretation and analysis of card scheme standards/rules and their applicability to the business
- Work closely across the wider Product & Technology team to assess and manage how the introduction of new payment schemes and scheme compliance issues will impact the merchant estate and product portfolio
- Collaborate with technical colleagues on the impact of introducing new payment schemes and scheme compliance in relation to technical dependencies, requirements, and impact to technical delivery roadmap
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to identify and resolve operational and scheme related issues.
Who you are
- Payment scheme compliance industry knowledge of the major networks (American Express, Diners, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UPI and Visa)
- Expert knowledge of Scheme Notices (Bulletins, News Articles, Rule announcements etc.), how to navigate the announcements, tracking, analysis and likely impact to technology and operational functions
- Expert knowledge in how to navigate scheme portals for information and how to manage Service Provider and Third Party Agent registration requirements across networks
- Experience of scheme compliance and enforcement programs including scheme assessments and data integrity fees and skilled at engagement with the business, merchants and the schemes in forming remediation and mitigation plans
- Working knowledge of product lifecycle, managing release cycles and prioritisation
- Analytical approach to complex problems, generating pragmatic solutions with consensus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, business, and technical team members across the organization, including proficiency in Microsoft products
- Strong people skills and an effective communication style
- Ability to effectively communicate and work in a distributed environment with colleagues located in different geographical regions across various levels of departments and organizations to facilitate meetings with business and technical audience
- Meticulous planner with close attention to detail, the ability to manage workload, capacity, and prioritization with a structured approach
- Pro-active and organized to function well and meet deadlines in a high-paced environment
- Critical thinking and ability to question and add value in the review of scheme
