Mondra is a high-growth tech start-up that is delivering a cutting-edge food system environmental insights platform to accelerate the planet’s progress to NetZero carbon emissions. Following a successful Series A fundraising round, we are scaling up rapidly and preparing for significant growth in user numbers.

Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially aware and technically skilled Pre-Sales Technical Architect to support our sales team in scoping, designing, and communicating integration & data sourcing solutions for prospective clients. This role is pivotal in translating client data landscapes into feasible technical solutions for onboarding, ensuring alignment with Mondra’s platform capabilities, and supporting a smooth handover to delivery and engineering teams.

You will work closely with sales, product, and technical stakeholders to define how client data will be sourced, validated, and integrated into Mondra, leveraging where possible our existing Import and Export APIs and identifying where custom API development may be required for fulfil Mondra’s data requirements. You will also contribute to the client contracting process, ensuring technical commitments are clearly defined and achievable, as well as handing over requirements for execution to our Operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales to understand client needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to assess data sources, integration feasibility, and solution fit.
  • Define how client data will be onboarded into Mondra, including mapping data sources, transformation logic, and validation processes.
  • Identify the client’s BI requirements, and define data export strategies (preferably via existing Mondra API).
  • Identify the authentication/authorisation capabilities of the client, and promote the integration with Mondra’s Identity Provider via Single Sign On.
  • Leverage Mondra’s existing Input and Export APIs and identify where custom API work may be needed.
  • Provide technical input into Statements of Work (SOWs), integration schedules, and service descriptions.
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the solution are clearly documented and aligned with delivery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, product, engineering, delivery) and client stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Support client workshops, demos, and RFP responses with technical expertise.
  • Prepare detailed handover documentation for delivery and engineering teams, including architecture diagrams, data flow specifications, and integration requirements.
  • Provide insights from client engagements to inform product development and improve integration workflows.

Skills

  • Experience in a technical pre-sales, solution architecture, or sales engineering role within a SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of API design, data integration, and enterprise data systems.
  • Experience with API documentation, testing, and integration support.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Experience contributing to client contracts and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of supply chain data structures and PLM systems highly desirable.
  • Experience with data mapping and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and ability to assess data quality and completeness.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with version control systems and technical documentation tools.
