We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our growing Structures team. This role is ideal for someone with strong UK residential structural engineering experience who is chartered or working towards chartership. You will take responsibility for delivering a wide range of residential projects from concept through to completion, supported by a small and motivated team. The role offers a blend of technical delivery, project leadership, and client-facing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce structural engineering work packages for small to medium residential projects from concept to completion
  • Prepare structural calculation packs for Building Control submissions
  • Carry out site surveys and inspections and produce clear written reports with recommendations
  • Attend and represent the company at external meetings with clients, contractors and other professionals
  • Deliver projects to agreed fees and deadlines
  • Prepare project proposals and support fee submissions
  • Agree design fundamentals and overall design philosophy
  • Manage engineers/technicians on a daily basis from both technical and workflow perspectives
  • Assist in coordinating wider team workload alongside project billing requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Chartered Member (or near chartered) of IStructE or ICE
  • Proven experience in a relevant structural design role (discussed at interview)
  • Strong understanding of UK regulatory and Building Control requirements
  • Proficient in structural design software such as Tekla, TEDDS, or similar
  • Confident communicator with strong written English
