We have a requirement for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our structures team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive structural engineering experience and be chartered / near chartered. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of engineering services for residential projects. You will have a small, motivated team around you to assist with the design and management of work.
What you need to do to be effective in this role:
- Production of structural engineering work packages relating to small to medium projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Production of calculations packages for Building Control submission.
- Undertake survey inspections and produce written reports in good English on findings, set out in a logical manner with appropriate recommendations.
- Represent the company at external meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals.
- Be responsible for delivering work to a fee and to timescales agreed.
- Prepare client / project proposals.
- Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals.
- Manage individuals or groups within the team on a daily basis from both a technical and workflow perspectives.
- Assist in organising the wider team workflow in conjunction with the project billing.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role:
- Chartered Member of Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
- Proven experience of working in a relevant design role which will be discussed at interview.
- A good understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in use of design software such as Tekla, Tedds or other.
