Operations Coordinator (People & Culture)

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We won’t stop until we are all equal.

The Opportunity

As Operations Coordinator within the People & Culture team, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, responsive HR operations service to both managers and employees. Your responsibilities will span the full employee lifecycle, including preparing contracts and documentation, conducting reference and pre-employment checks, managing data in the HRIS system, generating reports, audit requests and delivery of monthly payrolls for International Assignees and Global Hub UK staff. You’ll support both Global Hub (UK and Worldwide) and International employees, ensuring consistency and excellence across all touchpoints.

As part of the operations team, you will be the first point of contact for a wide range of HR-related queries, providing clear guidance on policies and procedures and resolving issues promptly and accurately.

The Individual

We’re seeking a customer-focused, deadline-driven professional with experience in HR administration across the employee lifecycle. You’ll bring operational knowledge in areas such as UK visa processes, payroll, employee benefits, salary sacrifice, and tax. Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills—especially in Excel—are essential.

Fluency in written and spoken English is required, along with the ability to clearly explain HR and payroll procedures. You will be adaptable, able to meet service standards, and approach challenges with creativity and collaboration.

Please respond to the requirements of the role in your cover letter.

Only CVs and cover letters in English will be accepted.
