An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Door Engineer to join a leading Midlands-based specialist in automated doors, gates, and access systems. Known for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services across the region. As a Door Engineer, you’ll work on a wide range of powered entrance solutions, including roller shutters, automatic doors, and support clients such as local councils and MOD sites mainly throughout the Midlands area.
This Door Engineer role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in door automation, fault-finding, and electrical/mechanical servicing. You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated doors, diagnosing faults, and carrying out retrofits and upgrades. The successful Door Engineer will be versatile, safety-conscious, and confident working across a variety of access systems. 80% of the work is Midlands-based.
Skills & Experience Required
- Electrically qualified (18th Edition preferred)
- Strong fault-finding and wiring skills
- BS EN16005 certification (advantageous)
- DHF accreditation (preferred)
- Clean UK driving licence (max 6 points, no DD)
- Able to pass MOD security clearance, CRB & DBS checks
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
- Flexible with call-outs and working hours
- Safety-conscious and reliable

- On-call rota: 1 in 9 weeks (£50 standby)
- Call-out pay: £50 minimum + 3-hour guarantee.
