We are looking to add an additional PPM Engineer to our field service team to carry out planned preventative maintenance on automatic swing and sliding doors across the Birmingham, West and East Midlands region. As a PPM Engineer, you’ll complete routine checks, replace sensor batteries, change floor guides, lubricate doors, assess worn parts, complete box tests, and ensure all safety labels and signage are in place. This role suits a field service PPM Engineer who enjoys structured maintenance work and delivering safe, compliant service. You’ll process jobs via tablet, follow safety procedures, and receive support from senior engineers and management. This is a paid door‑to‑door role covering the wider Midlands area. The PPM Engineer will join a global brand offering a starting salary package up to £31,800, training, and long‑term development. The opportunity would also suit a Trainee, Apprentice or Engineer’s Mate who wants to progress into a fully trained Automatic Door Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Basic electrical knowledge or training (City & Guilds 2365, EAL Level 2, BTEC Electrical/Electronic, PAT Testing 2377)
  • BS EN 16005, DHF or NVQ pathways desirable
  • Experience with Automatic/Industrial Doors, Gates, Barriers, Lifts or electromechanical equipment
  • PPM, Maintenance, Fault‑Finding or Service Engineering background
  • Full UK driving licence
