I have been tasked with recruiting a Financial Controller for a well-established company in with close ties to the hospitality and food and beverage service industry. Known for its innovation and dedication to excellence, our client is seeking a professional who can ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while spearheading key financial control initiatives across the UK and ROI.
This role will require some regular travel to London and possibly the midlands for meetings with internal and external stakeholders. For the remainder of the time the role will be based working from home.
Role Responsibilities
In the role of Financial Controller, you will:
- Take full ownership of the month-end process and financial reporting, ensuring integrity across the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting consolidation processes, providing thorough financial analysis to support business reviews.
- Oversee the Balance Sheet and reconciliation processes, identifying risks and opportunities within UK and ROI financial statements.
- Prepare statutory accounts to draft stage, supporting both internal and external audits.
- Act as the gatekeeper for payroll information and high-value invoice/credit note approvals, ensuring governance and compliance.
About You
To excel as a Financial Controller, you will have:
- A professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with strong post-qualification experience.
- Advanced analytical and commercial skills, especially in Excel, complemented by first-class forecasting and budgeting credentials.
- Exceptional communication abilities, enabling you to convey complex information to senior stakeholders effectively.
- Strong decision-making and time management skills, with demonstrated resilience and the capacity to manage conflicting demands.
- A collaborative spirit, with the ability to lead, influence and drive change at all organisational levels.
- Previous experience of working in the consumer goods, hospitality or wholesale industries would be beneficial for this role
