Plan B Talent Ltd are excited to partnering with our client on the recruitment of a Commodity Manager which is a new role to join their Procurement Division. As a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for driving and maximizing manufacturing income across their supply chain. Your role will involve identifying new business opportunities, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the successful delivery of incremental income through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
As the Commodity Manager your key responsibilities will entail the following:
- Identify, negotiate & deliver commodity manufacturing income revenue to meet business targets.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Global Teams to uncover new supplier partnerships.
- Engage with the manufacturing and supply base to gain commitment for delivering incremental income and align on strategic objectives.
- Implement a pipeline of opportunity, ensuring a structured approach to managing potential deals.
- Track and report progress through business MI, ensuring timely updates and alignment with business goals
The successful candidate to the Commodity Manager role will be able to demonstrate the following technical skills and behaviours:
- Proven experience in commodity management, procurement, or a related field.
- Proven Category management experience within a buying/procurement environment leaning into sustainable supply.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive profitable outcomes.
- Can demonstrate experience of collaborating cross functionally within a business and with global teams
- Comfortable communicating with and presenting to key stakeholders up to and including senior leadership.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to manage and track revenue generation pipelines. Strong commercial and financial acumen
- A results-oriented approach and ability to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Exposure to manufacturing or supply chain environments is beneficial
Whilst the role is remote it will also require regular travel to meet with suppliers and manufacturers. On average we’d expect the Commodity Manager to be travelling twice a week.
