Plan-Analytics is a specialist planning and project controls consultancy supporting major construction, infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK. We work with clients, designers and contractors to develop, analyse and improve project programmes, with a strong focus on practical planning, programme assurance, NEC contract support, delay analysis, reporting and digital project controls.
We are looking for a driven Project Planner / Planning Consultant to join our growing team. This role would suit someone with early planning experience who wants to accelerate their development and gain exposure to major projects, complex programmes and a broader range of planning and project controls services than they may typically see in a large organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a background in buildings, civils, infrastructure, construction, design or engineering. Experience in a design or engineering environment would be particularly valuable, especially where you have supported design programmes, deliverables schedules, progress reporting, interface management or multidisciplinary coordination.
The role involves supporting the development, maintenance, review and analysis of project programmes for major capital projects. You will work alongside experienced planners and consultants, supporting live commissions and helping clients understand programme performance, risk, change and critical path movement.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Developing, maintaining and updating project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or other planning tools.
- Supporting baseline, update and lookahead programme production.
- Reviewing programme logic, critical path, float, constraints and progress.
- Supporting progress reporting, dashboards, narrative reports and programme commentary.
- Assisting with NEC programme submissions, change events and programme assurance.
- Working with project teams to gather progress, challenge assumptions and improve programme quality.
- Supporting collaborative planning sessions, design planning workshops and delivery reviews.
- Contributing to the development of improved planning methods, templates, reporting tools and digital project controls processes.
About you: We are looking for someone who is ambitious, curious and keen to become a high-quality planner. You do not need to be the finished article, but you should have strong foundations and a genuine interest in how projects are planned, delivered and controlled.
You will ideally have:
- 2–4 years’ experience in planning, project controls, construction, civil engineering, buildings, infrastructure, design management or engineering delivery.
- Some experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject or similar planning software.
- A good understanding of programme logic, critical path, float, baselines and progress updates.
- Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail.
- The confidence to engage with project teams, designers, engineers, commercial teams and clients.
- A clear interest in developing further in planning, project controls, delay analysis, NEC, QSRA, 4D planning and digital reporting.
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial but is not essential:
- Buildings, civils, highways, rail, water, energy or major infrastructure.
- Design or engineering programme management.
- NEC contracts and programme clauses.
- Power BI, dashboards, data analysis or reporting automation.
- Delay analysis, QSRA, 4D planning or project controls consultancy.
Why join Plan-Analytics? This is an opportunity to join a small, specialist and growing consultancy where you will get genuine responsibility, direct exposure to major projects and the chance to learn quickly from experienced planners.
At Plan-Analytics, you will not be limited to updating programmes in the background. You will be encouraged to understand the project, challenge the logic, explain the movement, improve the reporting and grow into a well-rounded planning consultant.
You will gain exposure to:
- Major UK construction and infrastructure projects.
- Design and engineering planning.
- NEC programme management and programme assurance.
- Delay analysis and change assessment.
- Collaborative planning and client-facing workshops.
- QSRA, 4D planning, Power BI and digital project controls.
- Internal innovation, including AI-assisted planning and reporting tools.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the business and become part of a high-performing specialist team.
