They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to fill an opening in their London office to perform forensic investigations. The right candidate will be a senior level, chartered engineer with 10 or more years’ of experience. This position may lead to advancement opportunities in management.

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Power generation
  • Industrial machinery systems and components
  • Construction of industrial facilities
  • Manufacturing
  • Project estimating and scheduling

The primary focus will be on determination of the cause & origin of failures or incidents involving such equipment and components, as well as the evaluation of accidents and safety issues.

Responsibilities include the investigation and analysis of system, component, product and material failures, and review of reported incidents and accidents, for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes. The right candidate will be able to prepare oral and written reports in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR 35) that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation, as well as providing opinions and expert testimony. Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and overseeing laboratory testing by third parties. Must possess strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations to clients for the purposes of both litigation support and marketing. Must perform under pressure and respond to aggressive client schedule demands.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
  • Registered as a Chartered Engineer
  • Industrial/Manufacturing background is preferred
  • Project Management and/or Field Investigation experience required
