A well-established Consulting Structural and Civil Engineering company that provides Chartered Structural and Civil Engineering services to domestic and commercial clients across the UK and overseas is looking to recruit an experienced Engineer.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Engineer is responsible for the day to day preparation of technical designs and details for projects provided by the company.
TASKS
- Update the Action Log as the project proceeds.
- Complete and sign the Quality Plan with all relevant information.
- Prepare actual structural calculations, details, reports and specifications.
- Liaise with other members of their team.
- Liaise with the client, architect and other members of the design team and construction team, as required.
- Liaise with the technicians assigned to their projects to ensure they have sufficient information to complete drawings and models.
- Assist the Partner / Team Leader in finalizing and issuing completed work.
- Check calculations, drawings and other technical information and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- For the accuracy of their own work.
- That their designs and details comply with current European and British Standards, Part A of the Building Regulations and other technical recommendations, guidance and best practice.
- Ensuring that time and costs, with appropriate notes, spent on their projects is inputted into Coretime in a timely (ideally daily) and accurate manner.
- Their own health and safety when visiting properties and building sites, in accordance with HSE guidance.
COORDINATION
- Ensure they work efficiently towards issue of project information.
- Ensure they are complying with the requirements of Quality Management System.
- Ensure customer’s interests are protected.
- Ensure they receive adequate training, so that targets can be achieved.
- Liaise with their team to ensure targets are achieved.
