Plaistow Hill Primary and Nursery School is seeking a Mealtime Assistant to join the lunchtime team, to lead play and supervise the children during their lunchtime break. The role will include supporting children in the lunch hall, organising team games, providing first aid support and pastoral care to all pupils.
We are looking for Mealtime Assistant candidates who:
- Will promote positive behaviour and safe active play in the playground environment
- Will supervise the dining hall whilst encouraging healthy eating, table manners and good hygiene
- Will work together with other school staff and the wider community to ensure that our mission is translated into action.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre‑employment checks will be carried out; references will be sought for all shortlisted candidates and all shortlisted candidates will be requested to complete a questionnaire about any convictions or adult cautions that are unspent. Guidance will be given to those shortlisted. Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
