Retail Banker III
The primary responsibility of this position is to help deepen customer relationships, attract additional customers, and provide an excellent customer service experience.
Qualities of the successful candidate include
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
3+ years Retail Banking experience is highly recommended.
- Respond sensitively to the needs and priorities of the customer; recognize and take appropriate action to meet their needs and establish an effective working relationship with customers to gain their respect and loyalty.
- Project a positive image of the Bank to all internal and external customers and provide exceptional customer interaction.
- Must have the potential to understand and effectively apply product promotion techniques to open, develop and close a sale; must be able to create interest in a product and actively cross-promote other products and services.
- Must view oneself as part of an overall team.
This includes supporting others throughout the entire Bank to achieve the overall goals of the Bank.

Responsibilities of this position include (but not limited to)
- Full-time hours from Monday - Friday, with potential Saturdays, with a rotating work schedule between Aberdeen and Conde.
- Responsible for retail product promotion.
This will include helping to deepen account relationships with existing customers and soliciting prospects to the Bank.
- Understand the various products the Bank offers and able to explain the value of those products to customers.
- Responsible for maintaining existing and generating new deposit growth.
- Responsible for generating consumer loans with guidelines set by Bank policy and growth targets.
- Will interview and profile customer relationships to identify growth opportunities. Make product recommendations, cross-sell and refer customers and prospects to bank accounts.
- Authorize or recommend approval of consumer applications for lines or extensions of lines of credit and consumer loans within authority guidelines.
- Understand and comply with the related laws and compliance regulations that pertain.
Examples include Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, and Funds Availability Policy as well as the ability to interpret Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Assist walk-in customers with their new account needs.
This will include checking, savings, certificates and the like.
- Assist walk-in, online, and phone customers with problems or service issues related to their account(s).
Assist with quality issues related to deposit accounts, including tracking and communicating issues to staff and their supervisors.
- Understand bank operational procedures related to retail delivery.
This may include product functionality, account documentation, platform/operational issues, CIP procedures and the like.
- As needed this position may be asked to support other Retail Banking positions during peak times.
Will perform paying and receiving functions for customers.
This may include taking deposits, withdrawals, and transfers from customers.
May sell cashier’s checks and help customers with additional related issues.
- Fulfill compliance requirements as directed by the Bank, including those of the Bank Secrecy Act and consumer compliance issues.
- As part of the overall team of Bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.
