Role:
Wrapping Machine Operator
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday, alternate shifts (am – pm and pm – pm)
Location:
Carlisle, Church Street, Cumbria, CA TG

Role objectives:
Wrapping Machine Minders are responsible for product and process delivery, working with supervisors to meet production plans, operating machinery, and maintaining high standards. Flexibility and good communication skills are essential; training will be provided.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform pre-start checks
- Ensure product quality and specifications are met
- Set up equipment and machinery
- Complete changeovers and re-work procedures as per guidelines
- Adjust machinery to maintain product consistency
- Accurately fill out documentation
- Maintain safety standards
- Conduct shift handovers
- Train peers and new staff
- Basic troubleshooting and maintenance
- Understand daily planning and communicate issues
Environment:
Fast-paced, noisy, warm factory environment.
Experience needed:
Essential: Basic numeracy, literacy, manual dexterity, communication, problem recognition, teamwork, initiative, positive attitude.
Desirable: Previous manufacturing experience, knowledge of HACCP, performance indicators.
Recruitment process:
Assessments including aptitude and English tests (~minutes), followed by a competency-based interview (~minutes).
