Role Objectives: The Relief Wrapping Machine Operator works as part of a team to pack and feed biscuits according to site requirements. When necessary, you will act as a Wrapping Machine Operator, responsible for product and process delivery. The role requires a proactive, 'can do' attitude, commitment to high standards, and willingness to progress within the team through training. You may need to move lines across the factory as required.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manually pack products within specifications, including bending, lifting, and stretching.
• Visually check for foreign matter and hazards.
• Ensure packed biscuits meet quality standards.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
• Maintain high standards to achieve planned output.
• Report issues to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Support improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with production processes on the line.

Wrapping Machine Operator Specific Tasks:

• Perform pre-start checks.
• Ensure product quality and specifications are met throughout shifts.
• Understand equipment setup.
• Complete changeovers and rework procedures as per procedures.
• Adjust machinery to maintain product consistency.
• Complete documentation accurately.
• Follow safety standards.
• Participate in shift handovers.
• Train peers and new operators.
• Diagnose and undertake basic maintenance.
• Plan daily tasks and communicate issues effectively.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Basic communication skills.
• Ability to recognise problems.
• Strong team working skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Positive attitude and openness to change.

Desirable:

• Previous manufacturing experience (training provided).
• Knowledge of HACCP and safety systems.
• Understanding of KPIs like production targets and waste levels.
