The Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) team is essential to this transformation as they are responsible for consumer and shopper insights expertise, knowledge and focus to help change the pladis culture from Product centric to Consumer and Shopper-centric.

The UK&I Consumer & Market Insights team play a strategic role within the business, challenging current thinking and pro-actively moving the business forward and driving profitable growth. It is vital that we have in-depth understanding of shoppers, their needs and behaviours to leverage opportunities for our brands and categories. The Shopper Insights Sr Manager role, within the CMI team, is responsible for partnering with the Shopper Marketing and Category Strategy teams to bring expertise on our shoppers and channels into our internal plans, as well as externally to influence our key retail partners.

Key Deliverables:

  • Be a strong strategic partner for the Category Strategy team: Integrate shopper insights into category vision, strategy, and activation plans, ensuring shopper needs and behaviours are considered in decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Shopper Marketing: Work closely with the Shopper Marketing team to ensure all shopper campaigns and initiatives are grounded in actionable shopper insights. Provide relevant data, trends, and recommendations to maximize campaign effectiveness.
  • Shopper Marketing Campaign Evaluation: Lead the measurement and evaluation of shopper assets and campaigns, providing analysis and recommendations to improve future activity.
  • Segmentation & Targeting: Lead the development of shopper missions segmentation and support its application across channels to better target and engage shoppers.
  • E-commerce transformation strategy: Lead development of a robust shopper insight plan to drive grocery.com's accelerated growth in the next 3Y for pladis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective working relationships with external shopper research partners and collaborate with the wider Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) team to ensure insights flow throughout the business.
  • Bringing the outside in: Through identification of key trends and shifts in the external environment that impact the behaviour of shoppers, consumers and customers. Ensuring this insight plays a key role in informing pladis brand and category strategies.
  • Regulatory Impact Monitoring: Monitor the impact of regulatory changes (e.g., HFSS legislation) on shopper behaviour and support the sharing of learnings and recommendations internally.

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of CMI/Shopper Insight/Category and Insight experience, ideally with another FMCG manufacturer. Prior experience on Impulse/Snacking categories would be a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Quant and Qual market research methodologies.
  • Must be a strong storyteller, with the ability to communicate insights with impact & in an inspiring way.
  • Proven collaboration abilities, strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Must demonstrate both analytical and creative thinking abilities.
  • Strong conceptual skills, including flexibility in approach to problem solving, ability to push beyond the obvious to find innovative solutions.
  • Stands alone, when needed, with strong points of view and presents facts/insights in challenging situations with professional manner.

Interview Process:

  • Initial Telephone call with Talent Acquisition.
  • 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
  • 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.
