What will this role achieve? Wrapping Machine Operators are accountable for product and process delivery. They work closely with the ATM and Supervisor to sort out any issues and help deliver the production plan so customers get what they need. You will be carrying out tasks that require a hands-on approach and operating machinery. The role will require flexibility and good communication skills. All training will be given. The role needs someone who’s hands-on, takes pride in their work, and helps keep high standards while working well in a busy team. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Carry out all pre-start checks
- Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification
- Understand equipment and machinery set up
- Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure
- Ensure any re-work procedures are followed
- Make adjustments to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
- Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
- Always maintain everyday factory standards safely
- Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
- Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required
- Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
- Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks
- Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issues

- Basic numerical and literacy knowledge

- Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work
- Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
What does the recruitment process consist of?
- Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment along with a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 45–60 minutes to complete.
- Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience. Depending on your current job role, you may not be required to complete the assessments.
