Role Overview
This role will provide key support to the Site Leadership Team for the Wigston factory site. The role reports to the Manchester Regional Finance Manager within Supply Chain Finance and involves preparing quarterly forecasts, budgets, performance reporting, cost‑centre management, capital investment support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Deliverables
- Ensuring that decisions, plans, and strategies are formulated on a sound commercial and financial basis.
- Reviewing and reporting performance against agreed budgets and forecasts and driving the formulation of action plans.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and group accounting procedures, highlighting areas of concern and taking corrective action.
- Business partner to site cost‑centre managers, supporting them in overheads management and mentoring on financial matters.
- Completing the site’s budget and monthly forecasting processes.
- Standard product costing ownership and support for new product development.
- Supporting and liaising with project leads regarding capital reporting, forecasting, business cases, and managing monthly site project meetings.
- Site prime and overhead performance analysis and month‑end reporting.
- Ensuring robust financial control through maintaining the site asset register, capitalization, disposal, and asset verification.
- Periodic balance‑sheet reconciliation review.
- Supervision and support of the offshore team, development training and acting as the first point of contact.
- Reporting into the Regional Finance Manager and site leadership team.
- Deputising as required for the Regional Finance Manager.
Essential Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication and leadership ability, with the gravitas to build solid, successful working relationships cross‑functionally.
- Experience in financial analysis, modelling and investment appraisal techniques.
- The desire to challenge the status quo and actively engage with the whole site.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Word/PowerPoint.
- Willingness to commit to completing a recognised professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA or ACCA.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to make financial analysis easily understood.
- Ability to plan effectively and work under own initiative.
