Supply Planner – responsible for managing supply planning and scheduling for biscuit manufacturing sites to maximise customer service, optimise factory efficiencies and maintain appropriate working capital.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a 12‑week capacity plan and a 2‑week production schedule to meet service levels while balancing efficiency with customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Demand Planning, MRP, Customer Services and Factory Operations to make decisions that balance customer service, inventory and cost performance.
  • Represent planning in daily factory reviews, monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and attend monthly planning meetings to align capacity with market demand.
  • Achieve inventory targets, use analytics to reduce overproduction, eliminate dead stock and minimise waste from raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate master data in planning systems, ensure automation and regularly update planning documents and principles in collaboration with central teams.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviours, support cross‑functional roles, engage in site visits, show flexibility and contribute to projects beyond core duties.

Key Deliverables

  • 12‑week capacity plan and 2‑week production schedule.
  • Inventory optimisation and waste reduction reports.
  • Accurate master data and planning documentation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain planning processes.
  • Experience in FMCG supply planning (advantageous).
  • IT literate with strong spreadsheet skills (Excel).
  • High numeracy and analytical competence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confidence to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
  • Occasional travel within the UK to manufacturing sites, distribution centre and head office.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG or retail manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of Sales & Operational Planning processes.
  • Experience with SAP or Citrix OMP.
  • Knowledge of factory production processes and capabilities.
  • Appreciation of business drivers and key performance metrics.
  • Understanding of master data principles.

Working Pattern

Agile 3:2 pattern – three days in the office and two days from home.

Interview Process

  • First‑stage: 45‑minute competency‑based interview on company values and experience.
  • Second‑stage: 60‑minute technical interview, case study or presentation.
  • Psychometric and aptitude tests may be requested.
