The Internal HR Communications Manager translates the HR and people strategy into clear, engaging communications that align with pladis’ narrative, culture, values and corporate brand. The role delivers all people communications through corporate channels, helping colleagues understand what’s happening, why it matters and what it means for them. It acts as the single point of accountability for internal people messaging, safeguarding tone, clarity and consistency across channels and audiences, strengthening trust, alignment and engagement across the UK&I colleague population.
Responsibilities
- Internal people messaging & narrative: shape end-to-end internal people narrative and lead on comms planning across HR-related communication (change, reward, performance, engagement, wellbeing, IDE, policy and culture); translate complex or sensitive HR topics into clear messaging for different colleague audiences; guard tone, sequencing and clarity for high impact or sensitive messages.
- Employer brand & colleague experience: support proactive people stories with Corporate Communications; develop campaigns and storytelling that position pladis as a great place to work; ensure HR communications are aligned with the corporate brand and provide a consistent employee experience across onboarding to offboarding; imbed inclusion, fairness and integrity in messaging.
- Channel strategy & execution: define and manage internal communications across channels (intranet, Viva Engage, email, digital screens, events, leader cascades); deliver messages to the right audiences at the right time; create toolkits and cascade materials; partner with HRBPs and site teams to land messages locally while protecting core narrative; continuously improve communication hygiene.
- Partnership with Corporate Communications: ensure alignment between internal and external messaging; coordinate timing, tone and positioning to avoid conflicts or noise; support leadership communications; maintain strong relationships across HR, Corporate Comms and stakeholders.
- Strategic contribution & impact: act as a trusted advisor to senior HR leaders on communications; anticipate risks and shape messaging; use data and feedback to assess impact and improve effectiveness; establish standards, templates and guidance to raise capability and consistency.
Key relationships: UK&I HR Leadership Team and HR Centers of Excellence; Corporate Communications (UK&I); HR Business Partners and site HR teams; senior and functional leaders; Global Communications HR Team; employee networks and engagement forums.
Skills & Experience
- Essential: Significant experience in internal or HR communications; demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex internal narratives across large, diverse workforces; strong storytelling and writing skills; ability to influence without authority; sound judgement and discretion with sensitive topics.
- Desirable: Experience working with Corporate or External Communications; exposure to change, transformation, restructuring or large-scale engagement programs; experience in unionised, operational or multi-site environments; background in HR, People or organisational communications.
Personal attributes: Practical, grounded and outcomes focused; calm and confident under pressure; values-led with integrity and fairness. Detail oriented while able to see the bigger picture; collaborative, open and comfortable challenging to improve outcomes.
