As the Engineering Trainer, you will be fully responsible for delivering high‑quality Engineering Training, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of site Engineering Apprentices and guiding their development throughout the programme.

Key Deliverables

  • Maintain the comprehensive Training matrix covering all Engineering capability requirements.
  • Design and deliver “Train the trainer” programmes to build internal capability.
  • Facilitate the bi‑annual training days to deliver compliance and engineering training.
  • Deliver high‑quality technical training on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs), Machine size changes, Guard removal and refitting, General lubrication procedures, Machine adjustments, set‑up and parts replacement.
  • Create, amend, verify and maintain DSOPs (Dynamic Standard Operating Procedures) for all training areas, ensuring they are accurate, compliant and aligned with site Engineering standards.
  • Conduct competency assessments and sign‑off engineers/apprentices once training is completed.
  • Carry out assessments as part of the ATM Recruitment process.
  • Complete annual training gap analysis and develop targeted training plans to address capability gaps.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment, onboarding and management of Engineering Apprentices.
  • Guide and support apprentices through their learning journey, ensuring progress against the apprenticeship framework.
  • Use SFOL (or equivalent systems) to create KPIs and dashboards that measure training effectiveness and completion rates.
  • Provide regular reporting on training, progress, competency development, and compliance levels.

Qualifications

Essential experience with training‑based programmes in the engineering field, identifying skills gaps and providing solutions, excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with facilitating training‑based needs. A background in engineering training is desirable.
