Role: Barrow Operative - B shift, Assortments
Salary: £31,021.68
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, alternate weeks
Location: Carlisle, 54 Church Street, Cumbria, CA2 5TG

What will this role achieve?
- Barrow Operatives are accountable for ensuring that the line is fully stocked, running smoothly and have good communication with the Supervisor.
- They will work closely with the key operators and Supervisor regarding any issues that they come across to achieve the production plan that ensures customer supply.
- You will be carrying out tasks that require a hands-on approach and operating electric hand barrows in designated areas.
- The role will require flexibility and good communication skills. All training will be given.
- The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team.
- Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Ordering pawns/layaside
- Ordering packaging requests
- The successful applicant will develop a key working relationship and support fellow work colleagues and maintain effective communication with the line/departmental management team.
- Complete stock sheets (assortments only)
- Keep the line stocked up
- Inform your Manager if you have out of date stock
- Use Autostore
- Moving loads into dispatch
- Barcoding
- Waste collection and waste control
- Documenting all data on Shop Floor online
- Supporting line operators in change overs
- Collect and remove all packaging as required
- Work closely with the daily plan to ensure we have enough packaging for each SKU.
- Help and support on the line if required (Packing)

- Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work
- Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
What does the recruitment process consist of?
- Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment along with a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 45–60 minutes to complete.
- Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.
