Wire and Jig operative (for electroplating business) in Brighton, England. If you’re the kind of person who has a genuine eye for detail, is very dextrous and comfortable with small parts wiring (to jig) work, enjoys variety in daily tasks and takes a genuine pride in your output, then we have just the job for you.
London and Brighton plating is a busy electroplating & anodising company, based in the Portslade area of Brighton. Our customers make precision engineered parts for aerospace, automotive and a multiplicity of general engineering suppliers / OEMs. We apply specific metallic coating to increase durability, lubricity, performance, corrosion resistance and decorative finish.
As a "jig and wire" operative, you will play a critical part in delivering truly exceptional plated products for our customers. This is your opportunity to:
- Learn and develop new technical skills (visually and physically)
- Put your passion for detailed precision output to good use
- Be part of a strong team
At the end of 6 months we will expect you to be able to do the following with minimal supervision:
- Place & fix (via wire / tension), a variety of small to medium sized engineered metallic products to structured frames or jigs.
- Follow defined job card instruction for the attachment of the above parts to specified fixtures.
- Meet company standards / specifications.
- Keep records of results (complete / confirm job card elements).
- Package / protect parts ready for processing.
The role does have a physical aspect (moderate lifting and carrying), working in a factory environment and requires instructions to be followed carefully. Previous experience in a factory or detailed production line work would be an advantage.
