Salary: Up to Β£38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Reporting to: Operations and Client Services Manager

About the Opportunity

Placr Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established and growing financial planning firm for an experienced Senior Client Services Executive.

This is an opportunity for a confident financial services administrator who can take ownership of client administration, manage more complex cases and provide dependable support to financial advisers and paraplanners.

You will play a key role in delivering a high standard of client service, keeping work progressing efficiently from initial instruction through to completion. Alongside managing your own workload, you will share your knowledge with colleagues and help improve the team's processes.

The Role

Working closely with advisers, paraplanners and the Operations and Client Services Manager, you will coordinate administration across pensions, investments and wider financial planning activities.

You will act as an experienced point of contact for clients and providers, anticipating requirements, resolving queries and ensuring advisers have accurate, timely information to support their recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of client administration and new business processing, managing cases from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Provide proactive support to financial advisers and paraplanners across pensions, investments and other financial planning work.
  • Handle more complex administrative cases, identifying outstanding requirements and resolving delays with providers.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, providing clear updates and responding professionally to queries.
  • Prepare and coordinate meeting packs, valuations, correspondence and documentation for client reviews.
  • Obtain policy information, track transfers and process applications, withdrawals and other client instructions accurately.
  • Liaise with product providers and investment platforms to ensure transactions progress within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain accurate client records and a clear audit trail within the firm's back-office systems.
  • Complete relevant administrative and compliance checks in line with the firm's procedures, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Manage priorities and deadlines, keeping advisers and colleagues informed of progress and potential issues.
  • Support less experienced team members by sharing technical knowledge and providing practical guidance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce errors and strengthen the client experience.
  • Support the Operations and Client Services Manager with workflow coordination and service standards.

About You

You will already have solid experience within an IFA, wealth management or financial planning environment and be comfortable managing cases independently.

You will combine strong technical administration skills with a personable approach, sound judgement and the confidence to follow up outstanding matters. You will understand that excellent client service means keeping people informed, anticipating what is needed and seeing tasks through.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in financial planning or wealth management administration.
  • A good working knowledge of pensions, investments and the associated administration processes.
  • Experience processing new business and managing cases through to completion.
  • Confidence liaising directly with clients, advisers, paraplanners and providers.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality, accurate records and compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using financial services back-office systems, provider portals and investment platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a senior administration or client services position.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Relevant financial services qualifications, or progress towards them.
  • Experience improving administrative processes or helping coordinate team workloads.

Why Apply?

This role offers the opportunity to take greater ownership within an established financial planning business, contribute your experience and make a visible difference to both client service and the wider team.
