About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to join a growing business at the forefront of advanced engineering and manufacturing. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll play a key role in supporting new product introduction (NPI), improving manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design through to manufacture.
- Oversee and continually improve manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency and quality.
- Lead and manage Root Cause Analysis investigations using 8D methodologies.
- Maintain and administer the 8D/RMA system.
- Develop production operating instructions and equipment specifications.
- Implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Diagnose manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Work closely with design, manufacturing and quality teams to improve production methods.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with health & safety procedures and best practice.
- Review engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routes to ensure production readiness.
- Create and maintain production documentation where required.
- Coordinate meetings with internal departments and project stakeholders.
- Analyse manufacturing data and recommend improvements to productivity, labour efficiency and costs.
- Source materials and equipment required for engineering improvements.
- Promote safe working practices and identify any unsafe conditions or procedures.
- Stay up to date with advances in manufacturing technology and engineering best practice.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Production Engineering role.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience using CAD software.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
Desirable
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience within precision engineering or high-tech manufacturing.
- Hands-on engineering and assembly experience.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team.
- Positive, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
