Location: Lower Dicker, UK
JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Operating manual lathes / mill. Manufacturing small metal components using a variety of manual machines.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Working to high tolerances
- Following engineering drawings
- Ensuring that components are machined to the correct specifications
- Completing relevant documentation
- Basic inspection of the completed parts
- Adhering to health and safety requirements at all times
- Working to high standard of quality finish components
- Good knowledge of measuring equipment i.e. vernier, micrometer, bore micrometer, etc.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience working with manual lathes / mills
- Good understanding of engineering drawings
- Ability to work to very high tolerances
- High attention to detail and appreciation of health and safety
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience of working within a machine shop
QUALIFICATIONS
Time-served experience in using manual lathes and mills for the purposes of producing metal components.
PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES
- Able to work in a team and independently
