Placr Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established HR consultancy for an experienced HR Consultant to provide additional support during busy periods and short-term cover.
Supporting a varied client base of small and medium-sized organisations, you'll deliver practical HR advice, support employee relations matters and produce clear, professional documentation.
This opportunity could suit an experienced HR professional seeking occasional work alongside other commitments. Assignments may range from individual pieces of work to short periods of increased support.
The role
Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing practical HR advice to clients, managers and employees.
- Supporting or leading disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance cases.
- Undertaking workplace investigations and preparing findings and reports.
- Supporting or managing formal meetings, redundancy processes and TUPE matters.
- Drafting and reviewing HR letters, contracts, policies and outcome documentation.
- Identifying employee relations, legal and reputational risks, escalating where appropriate.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and interview documentation.
- Maintaining accurate meeting notes and confidential case records.
About you
We're looking for someone who can understand a brief quickly, work independently and adapt to different clients and situations.
You’ll ideally bring:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or above.
- Strong generalist HR experience and a sound working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Confidence handling employee relations matters.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- A practical, approachable and solutions-focused style.
- Strong organisation, reliability and discretion.
- Experience supporting SMEs, charities or working within an HR consultancy.
Experience leading investigations, redundancy or TUPE processes would be particularly valuable.
Working arrangements
This is an ad hoc cover opportunity, with no fixed working pattern or guaranteed hours.
You’ll be contacted when assignments arise, and your availability will be discussed for each piece of work or period of cover. The role is based at the consultancy’s Newhaven office / Hybrid options available.
