Are you an experienced tax professional looking for greater responsibility, a varied client portfolio and the opportunity to lead and develop a team?

Our client is a fast-growing accountancy firm with multiple offices across Sussex and Surrey. Supporting thousands of businesses and individuals, the firm provides specialist accountancy, taxation, payroll, advisory and financial planning services.

They are now looking for a confident and technically strong Tax Manager to join their expanding team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing a varied portfolio of personal tax clients
  • Delivering accurate tax compliance services and independently resolving tax issues
  • Providing specialist advice on inheritance tax, estate planning and capital gains tax
  • Processing P11Ds, Employment Related Securities submissions and ATED returns
  • Reviewing tax computations and compliance work completed by team members
  • Leading, training and developing a team of tax professionals and trainees
  • Managing workloads, projects, deadlines and budgets
  • Liaising with senior managers and partners regarding client matters
  • Building strong professional relationships with clients and HMRC
  • Supporting business development and networking activities

What We're Looking For

  • ATT qualification is essential
  • CTA qualification is highly desirable
  • Approximately four to five years' tax experience
  • Strong personal tax and compliance experience
  • Tax advisory experience would be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of current UK tax legislation
  • Previous experience managing and developing a tax team
  • Confidence delivering training and managing team workloads
  • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence acting as a key contact for clients and HMRC
  • Proficiency in tax and accountancy software
  • IRIS experience would be an advantage

Hours

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
