We have a mix of casual and contracted hours available for Level 2 Swimming Teachers at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, in Portishead. Permanent shifts are listed below; there may be opportunities to extend shifts or alter hours for the right candidate. For casual roles, weekend coverage is especially valued.

- Saturday 8:30 - 11:00
- Saturday 9:00 - 11:00 (Pre-school teaching in the water)
- Sunday 16:30 - 18:30
Role and About You
More About Your Role: You will join Places Leisure as a Swimming Teacher in a fun, lively environment. You will inspire others to work together and deliver their best, with a passion for teaching, swimming, class programming, and instruction. You will engage with customers and demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise.
More About You: You should be passionate about helping people of all ages learn to swim or improve confidence and ability. You will work with groups and, at times, one-to-one, to motivate and instruct during lessons. You should be friendly, approachable, patient, and capable of building trust and encouraging students.
You will strive to help students reach their potential, drawing on industry best practice and applying teaching skills effectively. You should actively seek development opportunities to improve the service provided.
Qualifications and Development
All swimmer development stages are based on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. The role requires a minimum UKCC Level 2. Lifesaving qualifications (NPLQ or NRASTC) are advantageous; Places for People offers ongoing training and support to achieve these qualifications.
Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided, including support with NPLQ or NRASTC qualifications and enhancements to customer service skills.
