We have a mix of casual and contracted hours available for Level 1 Swimming Assistants at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, in Portishead.

Permanent shifts:

  • Tuesday 15:45 - 17:45
  • Wednesday 15:45 - 18:15
  • Saturday 8:30 - 12:00

For permanent shift applicants, please indicate the days you can work. The right candidate may have the option to extend shifts or alter hours. For casual role applicants, we are particularly interested in those who can cover weekend lessons on Saturdays (8:30 - 12:00).

More About Your Role

As an Assistant Swimming Teacher you will support the Swimming Teacher in swimming lessons from babies to adults. You’ll work closely with the Swimming Teacher in supporting swimmers develop their skills and confidence in the water. Within lessons, you may be responsible for a small group of learners learning a specific skill, under the direction of the Swimming Teacher.

Must Have:

  • Ability to work with children
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Experience assisting in swimming teaching/children's classes.

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

  • Level 1 UKCC Swimming Teacher qualification, or equivalent (not essential; training can be provided)
