As our Senior Data Scientist, you will play a leading role in driving data-driven innovation across the business. You will apply scientific thinking to identify opportunities where data science can create value, develop advanced machine learning solutions and turn complex data into actionable insights. Working closely with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders, you will oversee the full model lifecycle from exploration and feature engineering through to testing, deployment and monitoring. You will also support and develop junior team members through coaching and mentoring while ensuring all data science activities are delivered in line with data ethics and privacy requirements.

This is an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

Essential Criteria
  • Experience working as a Data Scientist with a strong track record of machine learning model development.
  • Strong technical expertise in machine learning algorithms and model development using Python, R or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • A proven track record of working with Cloud Platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS.
  • Demonstrable experience using data exploration, visualisation and statistical analysis techniques to generate business insights.
  • Experience deploying and monitoring machine learning models within production environments.

You will be an experienced Data Scientist with a passion for solving complex business problems through data. You will have strong expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis and data visualisation, alongside experience delivering models into live environments. You will enjoy working collaboratively across technical and business teams, sharing your knowledge with others and helping to build capability within the wider data science function. Knowledge of data governance principles and how they support data science delivery would be advantageous.
